Welcome to our Christian childcare center and preschool! We are proud of our staff and the quality of programming they provide for your children. Currently, the center serves 102 children daily in our infant, toddler, preschool, pre-kindergarten, and before & after school programs. We love working with children and desire to make this a place your child looks forward to coming to every day. Although State regulations require a teacher to student ratio of 1:10 in preschool and kindergarten-age classrooms, we strive to do even better. Christ Lutheran Childcare Center (CLCCC) typically maintains a ratio of at least one caregiver/teacher for every seven children in the classrooms for 3-5 year olds. In the 1- and 2-year-old rooms, the ratio of teachers to youngsters is always at least 1:5. In our infant room, there are no more than two infants for each caregiver, with a maximum of four infants under our care at any given time. Our staff are all S.T.A.R.'s qualified. This is a Washington State Training and Registry program which tracks the training of teachers in the childcare field, making sure the staff have an understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate activities for young children. All of our staff are required to enhance their skills through workshops and college educational opportunities. Rose Moore has been the Director of Chirst Lutheran Childcare Center since its inception. She has served on the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association Region One Board, the National Board, and is a member of the National Accreditation Team. Rose oversees the program and ensures that the center maintains high standards in early childhood education (ECE). She is a strong advocate and supports the staff of Christ Lutheran as they continue their education and training in ECE. A board of directors governs CLCCC, meeting monthly to provide for the efficient management and operation of the childcare center so that it accomplishes the purpose of its mission. The ministry of Christ Lutheran Childcare Center is to present to children the love of God and presence of Christ in their lives by providing a caring Christian environment in which to nurture their spiritual, social, mental and physical development. History, Accreditations & Affiliations Christ Lutheran Childcare Center is a ministry of Christ Lutheran Church in Belfair. The growing needs of our community and the desire to provide quality care led us to open the doors of Christ Lutheran Childcare Center in September 1998. Following a feasability study and research of licensing requirements, the church council and ultimately the congregation gave their enthusiastic support of starting this ministry. Christ Lutheran Childcare Center is licensed by the State of Washington, and participates in the U.S.D.A. food program to provide nutrionally balanced meals and snacks for children attending our programs. We are a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association (ELEA), and were awarded a 7-year accreditation from ELEA in 2010.
